In Hawai'i we are blessed to have an abundance of ethnic backgrounds influencing not just our foods but our lives. Haole is a term we use for the Caucasian race and so any minority mixed with a Haole would be called a Hapa Haole---our term for mixed race. It is such a prevalent term that it would be remiss of us not to include an item on our menu reflecting that---and the best thing that comes to mind would be an eclair or a boston cream type of dessert. Our Hapa Haole Cupcakes have us taking our moist vanilla cake and pumping it full of our famous pastry cream and then dousing it in chocolate ganache. Ummmmm---ya---mixed race stuff rules!!!!
